The Pediatric Home Health Clinical Consultant – Field/Remote provides consulting services to client agency staff on a contract basis. Services are focused on Texas agency clients and are provided through both on-site field and remote activities. The Consultant executes the activity specified in each contract, provides a high level of service and expertise to the client, and ensure each project is completed per the client’s contract. The Consultant does so while promoting and maintaining the integrity of HealthCare ConsultLink.
Job Qualifications:
Licensure: Must possess a current RN license in the home state and be willing to apply for additional licensure in other states, as needed. Current driver’s license required.
Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in the pediatric licensed home health industry. A minimum of two (2) years of recent pediatric home health experience is preferred. At least one year of recent home health administrative or supervisory experience is preferred; multi-site management experience is preferred. Must have knowledge of clinical and regulatory pediatric home health guidelines with emphasis on operational and quality impacts of compliance with regulations, as well as related clinical best practices. Knowledge of pediatric home health funding programs is required. Experience in various electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
Skills: Must be able to read and write in English and follow instruction. Also, the Consultant should possess reasonable knowledge in computer systems and be able to communicate well both verbally and through written documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is preferred. Must be confident in presentational skills and able to address groups of various sizes, as well as train individually in a one-on-one setting. Must be able to work independently while demonstrating a high level of productivity and quality. Must demonstrate above average interpersonal skills and time management skills.
Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid and current auto insurance
Travel: Regional and overnight travel required (60-70% of the time)
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; previous experience may be acceptable in the absence of a Bachelor’s degree
Environmental and Working Conditions:
Works in a variety of settings and office environments, promoting functioning and coordination with all client agency activities to ensure the highest level of professional care. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to travel with potential exposure to inclement weather.
Physical and Mental Effort:
Prolonged standing and walking required, with an occasional need to lift, pull, carry, and/or push items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and HCL/agency needs. Requires excellent problem-solving skills and ability to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively demonstrate the mission, vision and values of HCL on a daily basis
- Demonstrates and supports the core values of HCL while holding peer team members accountable for adhering to them
- Provides consulting services on-site and/or remotely to client agency staff per terms of each project contract
- Demonstrates a high level of knowledge of regulatory guidelines and requirements impacting pediatric home health agencies; includes requirements related to billing/funding sources for pediatric patients/clients
- Provides training and support to other members of the consulting team, as needed
- Communicates with HCL team to provide information on consulting activities, status updates, and requests from client agency staff
- Responsible for managing assignments in a professional manner while providing a high level of customer service to client agencies
- Follows HCL processes for documenting activities, completing project requirements, and communicating project and/or client information
- Acts in a manner that is compliant with company policies and expectations
- Develops educational content and/or communications upon request; will perform education as designated in coordination with HCL managers and team members
- Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, all local, state, and federal laws relating to operations of HCL
- When requested, partners with other team members to develop approaches that best position services or ideas for the marketplace through appropriate sales and marketing activities
- Contributes to HCL team efforts to achieve and surpass business goals and objectives
- Carries out other duties in support of the CEO and managers at HCL
