Purpose
The contract manager ensures the effective management of contracts throughout their lifecycle, from negotiation and drafting to execution and renewal. This role aims to minimize risk, optimize contract terms, and foster positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. By overseeing contract compliance, identifying potential issues, and implementing efficient processes, the contract manager contributes to the organization's operational efficiency, financial stability, and overall success.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with Sales teams in both Government Services and commercial sectors to efficiently process a high volume of time-sensitive transactions. This includes managing credentialing applications, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), audit requests, and Sales contracts, adhering to specific federal, state, and local procedures.
2. Gain a thorough understanding of contract obligations and pertinent federal/state regulations affecting the business. Work closely with the Compliance Officer and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are clearly communicated, implemented, and monitored.
3. Negotiate key terms within Sales contracts to mitigate risks effectively.
4. Lead the process for facilitating customer-initiated audits, coordinating efforts with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure successful outcomes.
5. Foster and maintain robust relationships with customer provider relations teams, encompassing contract managers, agency directors, quality and compliance managers, and customer auditors.
6. Collaborate with various internal departments, including Sales, Government Services Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and Legal, to ensure seamless operationalization of contracts.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging LEAN practices and tools such as Daily Management and Problem Solving, to enhance operational efficiency.
8. Participate in and lead assigned projects aimed at improving team performance, organizational effectiveness, and overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Customer service orientation: Prioritizing exceptional service for both internal and external stakeholders, with a prompt response to inquiries and requests.
- Contract management proficiency: In-depth understanding of contract law and regulations, familiarity with various contract types, terms, and conditions, and the ability to recognize and address potential risks.
- Exceptional communication skills: Capable of articulating complex contractual terms clearly and concisely, adept at negotiation and conflict resolution, and skilled in collaborating effectively with both internal and external parties.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Energetic, proactive, and flexible, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective time management: Proficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting multiple deadlines, utilizing time-tracking tools and project management techniques efficiently.

- Industry knowledge: Understanding of industry-specific regulations, standards, and market trends, including awareness of competitors and industry benchmarks to inform negotiation strategies.

This role is full-time (Monday through Friday) and remote-based with potential of hybrid/remote in our Marlborough, Massachusetts office.
