Job Overview Summary  

The Infrastructure Engineer III is an experienced role working under general supervision, provides engineering support as part of the Advarra IT team including planning and implementing network and infrastructure changes or improvements, monitoring of the helpdesk ticket tracking system, responding to escalated service requests, resolving technical problems. Other responsibilities include administration and support of Active Directory, Okta, Zoom, Google Drive, AWS, Azure AD, Slack, Jira, Confluence, and other legacy systems. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities  

Networking

  • Demonstrated knowledge of network segmentation and segment access control
  • Experience configuring or supporting IPsec tunnels, VPNs, and general routing. Experience with Cloud networking architectures and solutions (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
  • Document deployed solutions, maintain auditable access controls, and provide training for Tier 1/2 to support the solutions 
    Experience with Cisco Meraki and Palo Alto Networks is a plus 

Identity Management 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Identity Services such as AWS Identity Services/IAM, Azure AD/SSO, MFA, MS AD forests and trusts, and related Connectors
  • Experience in mapping team and job roles to resources using these Identity Services in a regulated and compliance driven environment 

Other Responsibilities 

  • Provide reliable information system performance
  • Performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs
  • Installing new or rebuild existing virtual and physical servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage
  • Developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures
  • Administering and responding to internal team member requests through the issue tracking system
  • Contributing to and maintaining system standards
  • Researching and recommending innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks
  • Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Safeguard data 

  • Performing regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
  • Performing regular file archival and purges as necessary
  • Performing periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
  • Ensure essential systems are backed up and restorable.
  • Repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures. Coordinating and communicating with impacted users
  • Perform routine patching, upgrades, and other maintenance activities to ensure resilient operating environment. 

Location  

  • This role is open to candidates working remotely in the United States. 

Basic Qualifications  

  • BD in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of total systems administration experience including at least 1 year with Cloud Services
  • Experience with databases, the basics of their operation, and how to support them in an operational environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of network administration with an emphasis on TCP/IP 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience administrating, configuring, and installing: AWS, Azure, AD, SharePoint/OneDrive, Microsoft Server, Hyper-V, Linux, Veeam and Atlassian products is preferred
  • Demonstrated customer interaction skills including listening, writing, and speaking. Must demonstrate the ability to confer technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and understand the necessary components of a solution through analysis, planning, evaluation of cost/benefit, testing and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail to diagnose problems and ensure that solutions address the problem
  • Demonstrate proficient ability to capture and document software/hardware issues
  • Demonstrated accountability in project participation and solution-oriented work approach
  • Planning, organizing, setting objectives, and managing time to meet deadlines 

Physical and Mental Requirements 

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs. 
  • Learn and comprehend basic instructions
  • Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
  • Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking

Pay Transparency Statement  

The base salary range for this role is $76,000 - $129,200. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits
