About the Team/Role

Payzer, a WEX Company, creates software solutions to help contractors simplify their business and make life easier.

Our software product, Payzerware, is an end-to-end Field Service Management platform that helps contractors run their business, grow sales, and simplify back-office operations. Payzerware provides complete business management including schedule / dispatch, invoicing, sales proposals, and maintenance agreements. It also enables a full range of payment and financing solutions, which further help contractors decrease outstandings, generate more revenue per job, and save time.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and availability of our cloud-based systems and applications. Leveraging your expertise in AWS, Linux, ECS, Docker, Terraform, Gitlab, RDS, MySQL, and Datadog, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and optimize our infrastructure to meet the demands of our rapidly growing user base.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Maintain and update highly available and scalable infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services such as ECS, RDS, and other cloud-native technologies.

  • Maintain and update automated deployment pipelines using Docker, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD to streamline the release process and ensure consistency across environments.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime using monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog and Cloudwatch.

  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability through infrastructure improvements and optimizations.

  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard our infrastructure and data, including access control, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents promptly, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize impact on our users and business operations.

  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and best practices to improve our infrastructure, automation, and overall reliability.

Experience you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, shell scripting, and AWS CLI.

  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration frameworks like ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and experience with tools like Terraform for automated provisioning and configuration management.

  • Experience with version control systems like Git for managing infrastructure code and configurations.

  • Familiarity with relational database management systems, particularly RDS, Aurora, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog for performance monitoring, logging, and alerting.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • AWS certification(s) (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) preferred but not required.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
