Job description

Direct Counsel is currently seeking to hire a Senior Litigation Attorney to take a lead role in handling catastrophic injury and trucking cases as part of a dynamic national team based in California.  Candidates should have jury trial experience and be comfortable taking on a first chair role in all aspects of litigation. This team also has a need for an experienced trial attorney overseeing litigation in other states. 

This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with significant litigation experience who are looking to take on a leadership role and significant responsibilities in working as part of a national client services team.

The Position

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the State of California
  • 8+ years of personal Injury defense litigation experience
  • Transportation and logistics, trucking, and related regulatory experience required
  • Superior analytical skills and ability to navigate novel legal issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Deposition, law and motion and trial experience required
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports
  • Regularly handle court appearances, written discovery, motion practice, depositions, etc.

The annualized salary range for this position is $160,000+.
