Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 annually

Position Summary:
As the Development Director of Sponsorship & Convenings at Points of Light, you will lead our efforts to reach revenue targets through signature convenings and sponsorships. Your role will be instrumental in shaping our fundraising strategy, using events and gatherings to elevate our profile and increase awareness of our mission. Reporting to the Vice President of Partner Engagement, you'll drive partner engagement strategies to meet organizational goals and cultivate strong relationships with current and prospective donors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the development team to enhance awareness and garner support for Points of Light among crucial audiences such as corporations, foundations, and high-impact donors.
- Create and maintain event pipelines, ensuring healthy and expansive pipelines and execution of prospective donors/sponsors.
- Execute strategies that enhance Points of Light public stewardship and recognition of key donor relationships.
- Ensure opportunities for stewardship and deepened engagement with our donors through our signature convenings (Corporate Service Council (CSC) Summits, The George H.W. Bush Points of Light Awards Celebration, Points of Light Conference).
- Work with the development team to secure large sponsorships (corporate and individual donors) and multi-year/multi-region corporate sponsorships.
- Aid leadership in managing fundraising committees comprised of board members to ensure event fundraising success.
- Renew and grow existing corporate sponsors and individual donors.
- Ensure that all sponsor benefits are executed following sponsor levels.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including executives, program managers, and fundraising teams, to develop creative events.
- Identify key conferences and events for the development team to attend for lead generation.
- Develop, implement, and assure the success of fundraising goals for events.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or education/experience equivalency
- Minimum of 5+years of demonstrated successful experience planning and leading significant fundraising events
- Successful track record should include working with high level volunteer Board and committee members to meet fundraising objectives and with planning, managing and initiating solicitations
- Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate committee members and volunteers in resource development efforts; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, project management software (Asana), and data analytics/visualization tool
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve shared goals
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex issues, anticipate challenges, and develop effective communication strategies
- Commitment to staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in event management and donor engagement
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives
- A commitment to promoting equity in all aspects of the workplace, including hiring, promotions, and project assignments
