Director, Environmental Sustainability

Summary:

In this role, you will play a key role in advancing Vizient’s external Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Services to providers, suppliers, and all stakeholders. You will work cross-functionally to lead Environmental Sustainability services and solutions including strategy development, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) operations and the delivery, implementation, and client success of Vizient’s elective offerings.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a strategic approach to Environmental Sustainability services and solutions, direct Environmental Sustainability operations through elective offerings and lead the implementation of services and insights across Vizient’s provider and supplier base.

• Serve as the expert within Environmental Sustainability for providers, suppliers, Vizient spend management delivery team, and other internal and external stakeholders.

• Partner with Vizient providers and suppliers to increase engagement and expand Environmental Sustainability initiatives.

• Partner with cross functional teams to ensure alignment for market competitiveness across Impact Spend services and technology offerings.

• Communicate industry trends and insights, and key market enhancements to internal and external key stakeholders.

• Partner with the Community Contracting Program team to drive sustainability, economic prosperity, and community health.

• Partner with Marketing to produce strategic approaches for providers and suppliers that align with overall Impact Spend marketing strategy.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred. Degree or certification in sustainability preferred.

• 10 or more years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated understanding of key sustainability practices within the health care industry, especially within supply chain, energy, waste, water, transportation, and carbon accounting highly preferred.

• Knowledge of sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards, frameworks, ratings, and indices and Greenhouse Gases (GHG) carbon accounting highly preferred.

• Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet provider’s needs and timetables.
