The Category Team is a dedicated & talented team with a clear ambition to be seen as the #1 category authority by our customers. The role of the pladis Category Management team is to help our retail customers to grow sales of snacking products through the provision of industry-leading shopper, retailer and market insights that enable robust decision making on product ranges, merchandising, business planning and promotions. We work directly with customers externally, as well as providing guidance internally to ensure alignment of our business goals with the category needs of our customers. Our success has been recognised with a Top 3 ranking in the Impulse Advantage Survey

What will this role achieve?

The role will work across Impulse, no access to profitability info involved in commercial negotiations. Individuals will be graduate or equivalent hi-potential who would benefit from a placement at a retailer as part of their career development.

Key deliverables will be agreed with the Morrisons Category Director based around the 4 key areas of responsibilities above: Optimum Ranges, Performance Tracking & Correction and identification of risks & opportunities, Improving Promotional Effectiveness & Maintaining Optimum Availability

Please Note: This role will require you to be with our customers in Bradford 5 days per week

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Category management - identify diamonds & ineffective lines. Support on range changes & execution
  • Sales analysis & opportunities - performance analysis and identifying potential opps and risks
  • Promotional effectiveness - review promotional effectiveness and recommend future promo plans
  • Availability - support in availability actions

Bring your experience
  • Genuine desire to physically engage daily with the Morrisons trading team. Good relationship building skills with customers & stakeholders
  • Understanding of category management and shopper principles, including a broad numerical & analytical background
  • Good understanding of the UK retail trade
  • Ability to turn complex data sets into actionable insights and communicate recommendations in a clear and positive manner
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, strong gravitas & credibility
  • Ability to manage several projects at once
  • Basic knowledge of space planning, insights tools and data sets spanning but not limited to JDA, Nielsen, Kantar etc
