Your missions

Great opportunity for a Software Engineer with CI/CD experience (or keen interest to move into CI/CD) to join a leading international Software Company that is moving key client-server solutions to the Cloud.

This role will suit an experienced Software Engineer looking for stimulating technical challenges, a friendly, collaborative professional environment, and a progressive long-term career.

The Opportunity

Esko is a leading global provider of software solutions that accelerate the go-to-market process of packaged goods for clients around the world, enabling them to produce the best packaging for billions of consumers.

This is a hybrid role with at least 2 days a week in our Ghent office. The Software Engineer – CI/CD Specialist is part of a software engineering team on an exciting journey to bring Esko’s leading Automation Workflow software (‘Automation Engine’) to the cloud.

One of the challenges on our cloud journey is to set up a continuous integration / continuous delivery & deployment pipeline that supports the transition from code building, software deployment and (automated) testing for on-premises systems towards cloud environments.

This is not only about maintaining source code and creating high quality software distributions from that, but also about how to do so as efficiently as possible and so much more…
If you are up for it, we would be happy to welcome you in our team!

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Work within a global agile software development team using scrum processes.
  • Collaborate with development and test teams, as well as with specialized teams for build & deployment infrastructure
  • Define, create, and maintain software-version-specific CI/CD pipelines for the workflow automation product portfolio
  • Responsible for the deliverables from these pipelines to be available at regular intervals for developers and testers (nightly builds, prerelease builds, golden masters)
  • If need be, take care of providing hotfixes for severe customer issues to the workflow automation product portfolio

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Master’s degree or (professional) bachelor’s degree with equivalent educational attainment in computer science / software engineering
  • Solid software engineering experience with specific skills/strong interest in continuous integration & delivery/deployment
  • Code building and software deployment on Win/Mac/Unix platforms,
source control systems, integrated development environments, compiling, linking, package-management systems, containerization, infrastructure provisioning and experience with facilitating tools (Perforce, GitHub, Eclipse, Visual Studio, MSVC, Clang, gcc, ant, nmake, cmake, ninja, npm, yarn, maven, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible etc)
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages & tools such as Windows (Power)Shell, Unix shells, Python, Groovy
  • Experience with cloud computing services such as AWS, Microsoft AzureFluent in English. Dutch is helpful, but not critical
