ROLE SUMMARY:

The IT Systems Engineer will be instrumental in managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, including both Linux and Windows servers, as well as cloud services and identity management using Okta. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in both hardware and software systems, deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, and a proven track record in systems administration and engineering. This role is vital for ensuring high standards of operational stability, security, and efficiency within our IT systems, making it essential to the smooth operation and growth of the organization.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Linux and Windows System Administration:

  • Manage and maintain both Linux and Windows servers, ensuring high performance and availability.

  • Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes across both operating systems.

  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups for both Linux and Windows environments.

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management:

  • Serve as a primary engineer for cloud services hosted on AWS and Google Cloud platforms.

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources across multiple platforms.

  • Implement and maintain cloud security best practices and compliance standards.

  • Identity and Access Management:

  • Manage the Okta identity platform to ensure secure and efficient access management across all IT systems, including integration with both Linux and Windows environments.

  • Coordinate the setup, integration, and support of user authentication and authorization between on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Security and Compliance:

  • Monitor systems for security breaches and vulnerabilities; promptly address any issues to maintain high security standards across diverse environments.

  • Ensure compliance with data security regulations and best practices, updating protocols as needed.

  • Project Management and Implementation:

  • Lead and coordinate IT projects from planning to deployment, ensuring they align with organizational goals.

  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.

  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support:

  • Provide expert-level technical support for escalated IT issues, especially related to Linux and Windows servers and cloud environments.

  • Develop a repository of common troubleshooting procedures and documentation to enhance issue resolution processes.

 

MUST HAVES: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a significant focus on managing both Linux and Windows servers and cloud environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of and proficiency with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud) and identity management systems (Okta).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong emphasis on data integrity and security.

 

NICE TO HAVES: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert).

  • Experience in the financial services sector, particularly in settings that require stringent data security and compliance standards.

Salary Range*: $98,070 - $123,668

*Please note that the above salary range is a national range, and compensation is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and skill level.
