Summary
The System Administrator II will apply knowledge to manage, develop, test and maintain complex server system environments supporting critical business processes. The System Administrator II will work with the Infrastructure Services team to ensure critical business system availability is maintained, while client contract obligations are met or exceeded. Supporting systems such as enterprise level virtual server, storage and backup solutions will be a primary focus for the System Administrator II. All system solutions are required to meet or exceed industry auditing and compliance standards such as PCI, SOC-II, HIPPA, etc.
Essential Functions
• Implement and support critical strategies for all enterprise class server infrastructure systems; including hardware and software for virtual server computing systems, storage systems and all supporting subsystems adhering to relevant industry auditing standards; PCI, SOC-II, etc
• Implement and support critical strategies of enterprise level backup systems supporting all enterprise server and application systems adhering to complex business continuity and client requirements
• Implement and support strategies for monitoring of all physical and virtual server infrastructure systems; including daily availability monitoring and business critical trending of resource utilization supporting business critical applications
• Implement and support strategies for monitoring of all enterprise storage and backup systems including enterprise level near real time replication and offsite backup solutions
• Knowledge working with industry standard server infrastructure software platforms including; VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Multiple MS Server OS and Veaam backup environments
• Working knowledge with supporting complex MS Active Directory enterprise policies and solutions, supporting critical business software rollouts or configuration requirements
• Working knowledge with developing and supporting critical enterprise support systems such as MS O365 email and secure email solutions
• Working knowledge with supporting enterprise class remote desktop environments; specifically, Citrix XenApp and Remote Desktop environments
• Working knowledge with supporting IP networking and DNS configurations; both internal enterprise configurations and external Internet domain configurations
• Knowledge with supporting various industry standard database technologies; including MS SQL database environments
• All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Accountabilities
•This position does not have Supervisory Responsibilities/Accountabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience with the following enterprise class system solutions
o VMware vSphere virtual server systems
o Microsoft Hyper-V server systems
o Microsoft Windows server systems
o Citrix XenApp and Remote Desktop systems
o Veeam Backup systems solutions
• 1+ years configuring and supporting complex storage systems; both internally and externally hosted solutions
• Working knowledge of IP networks including DNS strategies
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• On-call rotation required
• Must have clear communication skills
Working Conditions
• Work is generally performed within an indoor office environment utilizing standard office equipment
• Travel: Occasional local, domestic and international travel expected
Physical Requirements
• General office environment physical requirements such as sitting for long periods of time, extensive use of computers and keyboards, lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Walking, standing, bending and stooping for long periods of time.
