Job description:We are looking for a highly skilled Network Subject Matter Expert specialising in router, switch, and firewall configuration within an Operational Technology (OT) environment.
As a Network Subject Matter Expert (NRA 2.0 Stage 1) , your primary responsibility will be to work on the network implementation of our standard NRA 2.0 solution. Your expertise in routing, switching and management of virtualised network will be crucial in ensuring the protection, availability, and compliance of industrial control systems.
You will be a member of the our clients APMT Industrial Infrastructure platform team, reporting directly to the Senior Engineering Manager of the Edge Communications product. Your role will be aligned to the NRA (Network Reference Architecture) 2.0 Deployment Program.
Responsibilities - Network Design : Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to design the integration of the standard NRA 2.0 solution into APMT Terminal infrastructure. Create and document Layer 2 / Layer 3 integration plans into the exiting Terminal Local and Wide Area Network. - Implementation Planning : Develop implementation plans and create implementation scripts. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth execution of network implementation projects, adhering to established standards and best practices. - Network Configuration : Configure networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, etc in accordance with project requirements and our client’s internal standards. - Integration and Testing: collaborate with the Test Management team and the Terminal IT Team to conduct rigorous testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve network issues. - Support Program Go-Live milestones and provide assistance during Hypercare periods. - Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides, to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for future reference.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA or CCNP Routing & Switching, CompTIA Network+, VMWare Certified Network Virtualisation) are advantageous. - The candidate must have excellent understanding of Routing and Switching technologies and protocols. - The candidate must have working experience with Cisco Nexus 9K series datacenter switching platform, including vPC configuration - The candidate must have working experience with Cisco Enterprise and Industrial switching platforms. - The candidate must have working experience in configuring and managing VMWare NSX-T based network technologies - Understanding of Enterprise grade firewall technologies such as NSX-T, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Palo Alto. - Understanding of forward and reverse proxy technologies is and advantage. - Understanding of OT applications commonly used in terminal operations, including but not limited to Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), Gate Operating Systems (GOS), EDI, CCTV, Access Control systems, SCADA solutions, PLCs, etc is an advantage. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at various levels. - Proactive mindset with a continuous learning approach to keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and security threats in the OT domain. - Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic and challenging environment. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of security and compliance.
