We are currently seeking a talented and driven professional to join our Estates and Trusts team!

The Estate and Trust Senior Associate is responsible for assisting our clients with their internal accounting and estate, gift, and trust needs by performing a variety of more advanced accounting and tax assignments. Tasks are conducted under limited direct supervision but under the review of the Supervisor, Manager, or Partner.

With offices in Minnesota (Eden Prairie, Minneapolis, Mankato) and Florida (Naples) and a remote workforce in 20+ different states, Boulay offers a diverse work environment that empowers you to work where you want and how you want. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare more advanced trust and estate income tax returns
  • Prepare more advanced gift tax returns
  • Prepare more advanced estate tax returns
  • Perform and review trust accounting
  • Review trust and estate income tax returns
  • Review gift tax returns
  • Review estate tax returns
  • Assist with drafting estate plans
  • Research technical issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of applicable experience
  • Some estate and trust experience
  • Some tax preparation and review experience (specifically with gift, estate, and trust and estate income tax)
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Revenue Code, tax law, and tax processes
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data
  • Previous estate and trust experience
  • Previous tax preparation experience
  • Familiarity with accounting software programs: ProSystemsFx Tax, CaseWare, XCM, Maconomy, Quickbooks, and T-Value
  • Familiarity with estate and trust software programs: EstateVal and Estate Planning Tools
