Description

Position Summary:

As a WMS Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient implementation, management, and optimization of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) using the Koerber suite. This position demands a seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of WMS processes and the ability to leverage the Koerber suite to enhance warehouse operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

WMS Implementation

  • Lead or actively participate in the planning and execution of WMS implementations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, customize configurations, and conduct thorough testing.
  • Configure and customize the system to meet specific business requirements.
  • Ensure seamless integration with other enterprise systems.

System Configuration and Maintenance

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the WMS, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Configure and maintain the WMS system to align with organizational requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular updates, patches, and system maintenance activities to ensure the WMS operates at peak efficiency and security levels.
  • Perform regular system updates and maintenance to ensure stability and security.
  • Actively collaborate with IT and warehouse teams to ensure operational continuity.

User Training and Support

  • Develop and deliver training programs for end-users, ensuring they are proficient in utilizing the WMS features and functionalities.
  • Conduct periodic training sessions for key users.
  • Provide ongoing support to users, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal system utilization.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical and functional issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Koerber team support to address more complex problems.

Optimization and Performance Monitoring

  • Continuously monitor and analyze WMS performance, identifying areas for improvement in efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize system workflows, reduce errors, and enhance overall warehouse productivity.
  • Continuously analyze and evaluate the performance of the WMS to identify areas for improvement.

Integration with Enterprise Systems

  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate the WMS with other enterprise systems, such as ERP or inventory management software.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and synchronization between the WMS and interconnected systems.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of WMS configurations, changes, operational procedures, and changes made.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other relevant metrics to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Provide manuals and training resources for users.

Compliance and Security

  • Ensure WMS compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and security standards.
  • Implement and enforce data security measures, including user access controls, to safeguard sensitive information within the WMS.
  • Steel toe or composite closed-toe shoes (protective safety footwear) are required in select business units.
  • Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position complying with Ethnix Group’s policies and performance expectations.

Organizational Responsibilities:

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).

Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the site's efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, logistics tools, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Work Hours (may vary by state or location):

This position is scheduled for 44 hours in a regular work week. Hours of operation vary depending on the on-call shift, including working on weekends, when scheduled.

Qualifications:.

  1. Educational Qualification: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. This provides a foundational understanding of the principles and practices relevant to WMS.
  2. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated technical skills in configuring, implementing, and maintaining WMS software. This includes expertise in system customization, integration with other enterprise systems, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  3. Logistics and Supply Chain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of warehouse and supply chain processes. This qualification ensures that the WMS Specialist comprehends the broader context of how the WMS integrates into overall logistics operations.
  4. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to identify and address issues promptly. This includes the capability to analyze data, optimize system performance, and implement improvements to enhance overall warehouse efficiency.
  5. Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify and resolve issues within the WMS. This may involve analyzing error logs, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

Experience:

  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in implementing and managing WMS, with a focus on the Koerber suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse and logistics processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experienced in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) or Crystal reports as well as Software labels.
  • Experience in integrating Koerber software with outside systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server.
  • Experience in documenting process flows and operational procedures.

Language Ability:

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete documents, and answer questions in English and Spanish. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as needed.

Math Ability:

Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

  • WMS Software Proficiency: Mastery of the Koerber Edge software. This includes in-depth knowledge of system functionalities, configurations, and customization options.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in working with databases, including the ability to query, extract, and manipulate data, specifically with SQL Server.
  • System Integration: Experience and understanding of integrating WMS with other enterprise systems, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) to automate routine tasks, generate reports, and facilitate data analysis within the WMS environment.

Business Intelligence Tools: Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create dashboards and visualizations that provide insights into WMS performance and key metrics.

Network and Infrastructure: Understanding of network architecture and infrastructure to ensure proper communication between the WMS and other systems. This includes knowledge of firewalls, routers, and network security protocols.

Cybersecurity: Awareness of cybersecurity principles and practices to safeguard the WMS against potential threats. This includes knowledge of access controls, encryption, and security best practices.

Project Management Software: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) to facilitate collaboration, track project progress, and manage tasks related to WMS implementation and optimization projects.

Communication and Collaboration Tools: Effective use of communication and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Google Meet) to coordinate with cross-functional teams, conduct virtual meetings, and provide remote support.

Mobile Technology: Previous experience with mobile technologies and devices like Zebra and Honeywell, as well as mobile printers (Zebra, Sato).

Certificates and Licenses:

Certification in Koerber Edge a plus.
