What You'll Do

As the Head of Telecommunications at Mapbox, you'll be a pivotal figure in our dynamic leadership team, shaping the future of location-aware solutions. Join us in supercharging the Telco industry and leveraging our existing market position established by working with companies like T-Mobile, Verizon and the FCC. You will craft the winning strategy necessary to accelerate Mapbox’s market position in this key industry to even higher levels of success. Working cross functionally with nearly every department, you will orchestrate the execution of your strategy to drive business growth outcomes as measured by revenue generation and pipeline creation. You will have the opportunity to leverage your first hand experience within the telco industry by translating those insights into actionable tactics to prove out your growth hypotheses. By combining your deep customer knowledge with Mapbox technology, you will develop compelling value propositions that are amplified through marketing and sales teams to drive improved customer outcomes and business growth.   • Experience with geolocation technology, strategy and vendor landscape for meeting business needs within the Telco industry

  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and our executive team

  • Proven track record in business development within the Telco industry.

  • Deep Functional Expertise: 15+ years of experience in product management, business development, or a similar role, with a focus on the Telco industry.

  • Telecommunications Experience: 10+ years of experience within the Telco industry.

  • Strategy creation: Ability to craft business strategies and the operational plans for market expansion.

  • Deep understanding of telecommunications, customer needs, and market trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute effective growth strategies in the Telco space.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, coupled with a global mindset.

Our annual base compensation for this role ranges from $144,500 - $200,000 for most US locations and 5% to 10% higher for US locations with a higher cost of labor. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location.
