Reporting to the Senior Director of Trade Business Development, the Director, Builder Sales, is an exciting role that provides an opportunity for strong leadership, customer engagement, and execution. The Director, Builder Sales will develop and grow our presence nationally by strengthening partnerships with current customers and forming relationships with new prospects. They will attract, develop, and retain a dedicated team to deliver outstanding financial and non-financial results.

This position is responsible for implementing the strategy towards profitable sales growth of the single-family and multifamily builder business as well as gross-to-net budget strategy. They will develop plans that focus their team, composed of direct and agency rep sales resources, towards securing opportunities that enhance and grow the portfolio. The role will also require the incumbent to create strong alignment with sales, finance, marketing, executives, and other collaborators to support the execution of their plan. Success in this position will require a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and preexisting relationships with key collaborators, in addition to an understanding of specification and the path to purchase.

Responsibilities:
  • Define sales and growth strategy while aligning with critical business objectives.

  • Find opportunities that provide growth for Delta Faucet Company and are aligned to the Builder strategy.

  • Implement operating plan and financial targets to ensure that the business wins profitable sales.

  • Lead the annual segment spend budget and over $425M+ annual sales and $60M+ gross to net.

  • Provide leadership for the sales team to assigned segments and customers through the formulation and execution of strategies and plans.

  • Build customer relationships with key collaborators and senior leadership at the assigned customers for sales and participate in negotiations as needed to close deals.

  • Lead sales activities and work closely with cross-functional partners to pursue and win opportunities.

  • Significant travel is required, up to 50% within the US.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

  • 10+ years of business development experience

  • 5+ years of sales experience within the Builder and/or Multifamily industry.

  • Strong negotiation skills including contract language, legal requirements, and financial terms.

  • Strong business development process and sales pipeline orientation, including effective use of CRM systems.

  • Experience closing complicated solutions to senior operational partners within the Builder and/or multifamily industry.
