The Director, Product Marketing position leads and oversees the marketing efforts for the Kaplan North America (KNA) products. This position will be responsible and accountable for developing strategic marketing initiatives to attract, engage, and retain students, educators and partners.  

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a Vertical Product Marketing team in developing an integrated marketing strategy and managing marketing plans to achieve designated KPIs across the different product lines in the vertical.

  • Partner with business stakeholders and sales leads to develop marketing initiatives to meet business objectives across both B2C, B2B/B2I, and B2B2C audiences.

  • Responsible and accountable for the development of messaging strategy, positioning, differentiators, proof points, and value proposition for products.

  • Responsible and accountable for researching and analyzing economic trends, competitive landscape, industry trends, buying habits and cycles and the demographic characteristics of target markets, and translate findings into actionable strategies

  • Being the go-to marketing expert for internal products and external competitive offerings within the vertical.

  • Develop and implement forward thinking, out-of-the-box ideas to increase market share 

  • Understanding student needs throughout in their educational journey; from exams to admissions and career advancement as well as the needs of the educators and administrators supporting students on that journey

  • Develop and foster strong relationships both internally and externally with team and partners. 

  • Manage, coach, and develop the product marketing team by providing clear roles and responsibilities, expectations, performance, and development opportunities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role  

  • Knowledge of the post-secondary educational landscape a plus

  • Analytical skills, able to interpret multiple data sets to identify trends

  • Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PP

  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
