The Senior Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s product catalog vision, ensuring that solutions are scalable, robust, and meet business needs. This role will maintain data consistency, integrity, and synchronization across multiple systems. The
Architect will also focus on identifying opportunities for architectural improvements to champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Design, develop and implement the Solution Architecture program utilizing robust product catalog management solutions to meet evolving business needs that may span multiple projects over multiple years. Promote, build support, and communicate purpose to internal partners.
Enforce architecture principles to improve business processes throughout the organization.
Identify opportunities to reduce or prevent technology spend and complexity.
Develop the solution architecture and define the approach to scale the business and/or reduce costs.
Build advanced understanding of current state business capabilities and technology architecture for supported functional areas.
Evaluate current system landscapes to identify critical dependencies and develop risk assessments based on technology alignment, supportability, and/or business fit-for-purpose.
Provide expert design input related to strategic initiatives that ensure efficiency and scalability; focus on the technology being used as well as approaches to development and integration.
Collaborate with IT Solution Delivery leadership and business functions to make IT investment and prioritization recommendations.
Investigate operational requirements, seek effective business solutions, advise stakeholders on the potential risks and challenges to help articulate the value of suggested IT strategies.
Provide strategic vision and drive alignment for solutions spanning multiple business and technology functions.
Participate in the evaluation, selection, and governance of new technology additions, or major changes in use.
Create, maintain, and oversee the artifact libraries required for documentation and consistency.
Maintain an authoritative knowledge of and provide leadership on software, infrastructure, and data trends and best practices.
Drive architectural decisions for the Enterprise Catalog Technology Portfolio, having a direct financial correlation to company results and performance.
Directly manage a team of Solution Architects, providing leadership, mentorship, and career development.
Indirectly influence and create an impact on broader cross-functional teams by setting architectural standards, driving best practices, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with the IT Enterprise Catalog Solution Delivery teams and their internal and external partners to define Enterprise Catalog portfolio capability roadmaps.
Ensure that the Enterprise Architecture team’s purpose and operating model are clearly understood by partners across the organization.
Partner with Enterprise Catalog Solution Delivery teams to better design critical technology systems, increase team effectiveness, and improve the stability and scalability of applications.
Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and best practices, ensuring catalog solutions remain competitive.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
12+ years of proven industry experience, with 7+ years in the enterprise/solution architect level
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)
7+ years’ experience in product catalog systems or similar product data management solutions
Experience with large and complex databases with advanced knowledge of database technologies, both SQL (like MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (like MongoDB, Cassandra)
Strong understanding of modern IT architectures, cloud solutions, and data modeling
Proficiency in Java programming language
Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., Vue) for front-end development and building user interfaces
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud services (e.g., Azure), including cloud architecture principles, cloud storage, and cloud-based application deployment
Knowledge of API management tools (e.g., Apigee, Boomi, or Kong)
Experience with data streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) for handling real-time data processing and analysis
Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is important for developing, deploying, and managing scalable and efficient applications
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts in business terms for functional internal partners
Ability to influence key stakeholders and drive meaningful change and innovation for successful value delivery
Excellent ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with business partners at all levels (including executive leadership) to elicit business needs and formulate solutions
Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and effectively resolve issues independently
Demonstrated resilience and resourcefulness when faced with challenges in business facets
Desired:
Advanced degree in a related field
Domain experience in retail
Experience in the automotive industry
Working knowledge of Auto Care standards including Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard (ACES) and Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES)
Hands-on experience with implementing and maintaining PIM solutions such as 1WorldSync, Syndigo, PIMCore, etc.
Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) principles and implementations
Experience with retail POS solutions such as Enactor and Commerce CMS platforms like Broadleaf
Experience with international, multi-lingual product catalog solutions
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and front-end frameworks like React
