Your missions

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2024 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the Role

In this Special Projects Lead role, you will be at the forefront of shaping and driving the most critical strategic initiatives and new business opportunities for our company. Reporting directly to the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, this role requires a leader capable of influencing company-wide decisions and steering complex, multifaceted projects in uncharted business areas.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategically lead and manage the company's most pivotal projects, aligning them with the long-term vision and corporate goals.
  • Deep-dive into unexplored business domains, developing and executing strategies that drive innovation and growth.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to build and implement tailored operational models for strategic initiatives.
  • Apply a nuanced understanding of product and business dynamics to influence strategic decisions within project scopes.
  • Oversee the integration of successful projects into the core business, setting the standard for excellence in execution and strategic fit.
  • Craft and deliver high-stakes presentations to the executive team, board members, and external stakeholders, articulating project visions and progress.
  • Conduct basic financial modeling to assess and optimize strategic opportunities, contributing to informed decision-making at the highest level.

Who you are:

  • An established leader with a proven track record in strategy, operations, or product management in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Exceptionally skilled in navigating both business and product landscapes at a strategic level, coupled with a strong understanding of business economics.
  • Influential in your approach, with a history of driving collaboration and consensus across diverse departments.
  • Adept at synthesizing complex data and research into actionable insights and strategic directions.
  • A persuasive communicator, capable of engaging and aligning various stakeholders, including senior executives and external partners.
  • Highly adaptable, thriving in situations that demand strategic agility and decision-making under ambiguity.
  • Previous experience in leading product development and launch is a plus.
  • Basic financial modeling proficiency is a plus.

The national pay range for this role is $217,000- $235,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
