Job description

The role of Senior Workday Reporting Analyst involves creating solutions for stakeholders by providing direct access reporting to end users, resulting in highly informed and data-driven decisions. The position entails responsibilities such as custom report creation, dashboard creation, creating discovery boards and worksheets on Workday, and working to streamline workforce reporting, all while ensuring reporting security is maintained. This role also requires participation in Workday's semi-annual release testing and enhancement cycle, along with involvement in future projects.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain simple to complex custom reports based on business need with understanding how the data is being used and maintaining proper security
  • Help implement new report request process
  • Develop reporting governance structure – report naming convention, tags, etc
  • Collaborate with process owners, HR partners, and Finance stakeholders to develop custom/new Workday reports and dashboards; keeping standard, enterprise-wide use in mind to achieve maximum efficiencies
  • Mentor/support HRIS team in Workday reporting as needed
  • Responsible for evaluating and updating the Workday reporting catalogue to meet business requirements and establishing a program that builds reporting and analytics capability within the HR team
  • Receive and respond to escalated employee inquiries regarding data, reporting, and dashboards
  • Support internal audit and compliance efforts and troubleshoot system and data issues
  • Support reporting for compliance reporting such as EEO-1, VETS, CA Pay Data and AAP
  • Build partnerships with internal stakeholders to understand user needs, develop requirements, align on data definitions, and build analytical tools to guide business decisions and support stakeholders’ strategies
  • Create and maintain related calculated fields for reporting and communicate calculated fields needs across areas to avoid redundancy and achieve efficiency
  • Train users on Workday reporting functions and available reports
  • Support Workday’s biannual releases through impact analysis to changes to Workday’s data model and create reports and dashboards to aid in identification of populations for release testing
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers in order to drive business decisions and address business questions
  • Creates and produces forecasts, reports, dashboards, etc. to tell a story through data
  • Delivers results, insights and recommendations (written, verbal, presentations, etc) to business audience to support business decisions
  • Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems
  • Provides consultation to business clients and may participate in cross-functional teams to address business issues
  • Identifies & captures business requirements, develops KPI frameworks
  • Maintain knowledge and build skillset in Workday reporting and analytics

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of experience

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with advance Workday reporting, data analytics, dashboards, configuration of calculated fields
  • 5+ years of processional experience working with data, reporting and analytics

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong project management and process management skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HR processes, procedures, and policies to translate business requirements into reporting and analytics.
  • Understanding of Workday touchpoints
  • Ability to articulate this knowledge as an expert at the department level and may be called on to provide insight at the enterprise level to provide detailed analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to access, gather, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business problems, decisions, and performance
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of employees and management

Preferred Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in report development, data analysis and dashboards
  • Visualization tooling like PowerBI or Tableau
  • Workday composite reporting experience
  • Workday BIRT experience
