Job description

Colonial Surety Company is a digital Insurance Company located in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. We are currently expanding all product lines, while looking to maintain our competitive reputation as a direct writer of Contract Surety.

We are searching for entrepreneurial executives who are experienced, licensed property and casualty insurance agents, with solid Contract Surety experience. This is a home-based commission driven position that allows for an independent and flexible work schedule. You will be elusively representing Colonial Surety Company in your defined geographic territory. We will provide you with the necessary training on our proprietary systems, give you access to already identified leads of public contractors (CRM), which will set you up to overachieve in your exclusive territory.

You must live within a 45-minute radius of Woodcliff Lake, NJ and able to commute to the office when needed. Hours of the position are 8am - 5pm unless you are in the field.

Experience Required

• BA in Business, Finance or related field

• 5-10 years of insurance sales experience

• Experience in Contract Surety

• Property and Casualty insurance license – active and up to date.

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

• Proficient in MS Office, CRM, or Salesforce

• Demonstrated presentation skills

• Strong phone skills


Job Requirements

• Colonial Surety Company’s personnel policy requires all staff to wear business attire, to include wearing suite and tie and clean shaven for males. Females must dress in business attire, to include suits, business dresses, etc. Please only apply if you can meet these position requirements. No exceptions will be made to this policy at this time.

• Must be willing to use your own vehicle to travel to business appointments in your assigned territory, which is within a 2 hour radius from our office. Some overnight travel.
