WHAT YOU’LL DO

Duck Creek’s products are designed for cloud native true SaaS architecture and have a complex architecture that spans multiple layers of code and functionality. All products are deployed on Azure cloud platform and use several Azure cloud services. We do complete end-to-end automated testing and automate the end-to-end build to production deployment CI/CD processes.

You will work on Distribution Management, one of Duck Creek’s products. A key area of focus will be cloud-native transformation of the product into a multi-tenant true SaaS product with modern cloud native architecture. You will architect, design and code across multiple technologies, including design/development of features, bugfixes, test automation and CI/CD automation, post-production monitoring and observability. You may also function as a technical lead for projects and teams as required. You will guide and mentor other engineers. You will work on any issues or challenges faced by customers and will work with various stakeholders to triage and solve customer issues. You will also actively collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders across different teams in Duck Creek. 

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

We're looking for candidates with a degree in computer science or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience, with a strong focus on cloud native architectures and microservices for atleast 6 years. The ideal candidate should be a natural leader, be strongly opinionated about cloud architectures, and must have been in a similar role before.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Expert of scalable, resilient, modern, cloud-native SaaS product development with Java tech stack
  • Expert in distributed software patterns, such as DDD, microservices, serverless, and event-driven architecture
  • Strong experience with Azure cloud and cloud native services on Azure platform, including Azure Functions, Azure SQL
  • Must have experience architecting cloud native SaaS products with Java, SQL Server and Azure stacks. Just having development experience without strong experience as an architect is not a fit for this role.
  • Expert in Object-oriented design, Java and Typescript development
  • Strong experience in SQL Server and/or Azure SQL database development and related technologies. Comos DB experience is a major advantage. Must have experience with database architectures in multi-tenant SaaS products.
  • Expert in CI/CD technologies to deliver software to customers with full automation. Docker and Kubernetes experience is important.
  • Real world experience with production monitoring, alerting, and observability for maintaining high customer SLAs for SaaS delivered products. Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, DataDog and automation of observability patterns.
  • Experience decomposing monolithic applications using Domain-Driven Design into microservices
  • Strong experience in leading, teaching, and guiding modern software-development practices across Product Development, operating independently with guidance
  • Very strong and articulate verbal and written communication skills. Including experience presenting to senior leadership and customers.
