Description

Scopely is looking for a talented and experienced Audio Director to join our team remotely within the US.

At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.

We are in the early stages of development on an ambitious unannounced title, creating a team of talented and passionate game makers that will join us on this exciting journey to bring one of the best-loved intellectual properties of all time to a worldwide mobile audience!

What You’ll Do

The Audio Director will play the leading role in establishing the audio vision and roadmap for an amazingly beloved and long lasting franchise. In this role, you will deliver a next level audio experience that celebrates the brand's iconic sonic landscape while taking it into the future. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader in sound design and audio production for mobile games who fosters teamwork and builds trust with leadership and developers alike.

As the ambition of this project is at the highest level, the successful candidate will be someone who will:
  • Lead, create, and establish the game’s audio vision, both artistic and technical, based on the creative direction of the project.
  • Build storytelling soundscapes that work in conjunction with animation, environment, and game design to create a deeply resonant experience.
  • Work with all other Directors to ensure audio direction is both synergised with and able to enhance all other game elements.
  • Design and implement complex audio element integration processes by working in close collaboration with Engineering.
  • Proactively promote project audio throughout project development and prototyping, encouraging focus on sound during playtests and review sessions.
  • Manage music direction for the project, coordinating with artists/composers, producing score, and integrating all music for an alluring gaming experience.
  • Define audio needs, timelines, and milestones clearly to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Manage the live service/multiplayer game experience and understand the evolving needs of audio in this space.
  • Navigate through ambiguity and embrace change with a positive mindset.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role for game audio, involved with full development cycles of multiple shipped titles.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in game audio, with a sharp focus on mobile and a deep understanding of cross-platform considerations.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly in a software-first culture
  • Deep understanding designing audio systems from scratch in a video game environment.
  • Strong familiarity working with audio and Unity.
  • Musical composition experience as a producer, composer, and/or musician for a visual medium.
  • Expert understanding of foley, recording, mixing, sound design, implementation, scripting voice over, localization techniques and best practices.
  • Leadership with the development of game development tools, technology and pipelines.
  • Multiple projects leading and working with external game dev partners.

Bonus Points
  • Experienced working with an IP
  • Familiarity with Unity

Please include a portfolio or PDF/links to examples of your work in the application.

For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $164,000 - $207,700, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and welcome individuals from all backgrounds to join us & embrace the adventure!
