The Water and Protection (W&P) business has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Manufacturing Technology Engineer (f/m) to join our Manufacturing Technology team and be based at our Chauny Ion Exchange Resins manufacturing site.


Reporting to the Ion Exchange Resins Technology Implementation Leader (TIL), the Chauny based Manufacturing Technology Engineer will be a key member of our globally aligned Ion Exchange Resins manufacturing technical network, delivering and leveraging product and process technology expertise, process safety expertise, leading new products and process improvement opportunities.

The Manufacturing Technology Engineer, will coordinate and prioritize the lab development work, troubleshooting, and improvement based experimental work for the 5 Chauny MT lab technicians, which in fact report to him/her.

The Manufacturing Technology Engineer will be a key member of site teams working to ensure a safe, efficient, productive, and reliable delivery of our products to our customers.

He/she will also support capital project planning, prioritization, and execution, by providing to the project team leader the needed basic data information. Under the guidance of the product manager he/she will drive quality and asset utilization improvements for the Chauny site.


Your key responsibilities:

  • Partner with plant operations and maintenance personnel to secure process data for identification of technology gaps, improvement opportunities, and project definitions.
  • Work with different groups to identify scope and support improvement projects for new or additional capabilities.
  • Validate improvement opportunities, using global tools and maintain the Plant's Technology Plan.
  • Identify and support the implementation of plant productivity improvement projects.
  • As Manufacturing Technology representative being accountable for providing all required process and technology inputs (Process Basic Data) to the capital project team.
  • Provide technical expertise and operational support to the site when called upon.
  • Work to ensure compliance with PSM (Process Safety Management standards) in collaboration with the Process Safety focal point for the site.
  • Facilitate project reviews for safety, environmental and technical concerns.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the lab development work, the troubleshooting activities, and the improvement based experimental work, for the 5 Chauny Manufacturing Technology Laboratory Technicians reporting to him/her.


Your qualification profile:

  • University Degree in Chemical Engineering or an advanced Chemistry degree with significant industrial manufacturing experience. Chemical Engineering is the preferred discipline.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Project Leader or a commitment to obtain this certification
  • 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience at leading product and process improvement introductions, troubleshooting teams, process safety assessments, and developing capital project scopes
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong technical background with plant troubleshooting skills is required.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required
