Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We are a remote first company with the exception of a few positions being onsite in our designated locations.  The positions which are remote you will need to be able to travel a few times a year. You may be required at times to visit client sites or attend meetings at designated locations with your team members.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Nymbus seeks a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer passionate about leveraging AWS for our SaaS solutions. This role involves deploying and managing Java-based applications on AWS EKS, optimizing AWS service integrations (ECR, Fargate, MSK, Glue, RedShift), and ensuring our offerings are scalable, secure, and efficient. Collaborating with development and operations, you'll enhance our infrastructure using Terraform, GitLab, Argo, and Rancher, making significant contributions to our deployment processes and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement AWS-based solutions to deploy our software products and vendor solutions, prioritizing high availability and scalability.
• Review, enhance, and manage Helm charts for efficient and reliable Kubernetes deployments.
• Develop and refine Terraform code for effective AWS resource management, adhering to IaC best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in client environments across network, application, and database layers.
• Execute environment upgrades with newer software releases, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
• Optimize database and application performance using AWS services, Open Telemetry, and Grafana for actionable insights.
• Assist performance testing efforts to identify bottlenecks and drive efficiency improvements.
• Produce detailed operational documentation for internal teams and the Network Operations Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years in a development role within AWS-based SaaS solutions, with a proven track record in supporting critical services.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, and Helm for deploying AWS services and container-based applications.
• Expertise in architecting, building, and managing large-scale, highly available distributed systems on AWS.
• Knowledgeable in data streaming, big data services on AWS, and familiar with relational databases and Java-based applications.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts.
• Ability to create comprehensive technical design documentation.
• Experience in core banking infrastructure or payments is advantageous.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

• $130,000 – $160,000 Annual Salary
