Job Description:

The Louisiana State University, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct work in Nonlocal Computational Crystal Plasticity.  The position starts as early as May 15, 2023.

30% - Conducting research projects pertaining to computational material modeling and simulation due to a variety of causes including multi-scale modeling in plasticity, rate effects, and impact damage.

30% - Working in crystal plasticity and strain gradient plasticity to address the characteristics of microstructural material behavior such as size effects and numerical instabilities of shear bands.

30% - Publishing research results.

5% - Advising graduate and undergraduate students.

5% - Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a strong background in Nonlocal Computational Crystal Plasticity.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a strong background in Nonlocal Computational Crystal Plasticity and 4 years of experience.
