Responsibilities

Development**

As the Assistant Regional Director (ARD), you will play a vital role within our team, focusing on fundraising, donor stewardship, leadership engagement, and expanding our presence in the DC-metro and US South regions. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Cultivating and managing relationships with existing donors to increase support for our organization.
  • Identifying new funding sources through research and outreach.
  • Cultivating donors for long-term growth and planned giving.
  • Planning and executing impactful donor and prospect gatherings to expand our network.

Relationship Stewardship

  • Identifying and empowering leaders in key cities within the region to drive our mission forward.
  • Maintaining accurate regional data to inform our strategies.

Chapter Stewardship

  • Developing and supporting successful chapters in the region.
  • Creating annual plans for each chapter in collaboration with chapter leaders.
  • Hosting strategic programming to foster community engagement.

Required and Desired Skills and Characteristics **

Required**

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in donor relations, fundraising, or political organizing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to our organization's mission.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and hold a valid driver's license.

Desired

  • Understanding of the political and Jewish communal landscape.
  • Familiarity with the region and congressional delegations.
  • Experience in event management.
  • Comfort with basic data management.

Compensation and Benefits**

  • Salary: $65,000-$70,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
  • Comprehensive benefits package including unlimited personal time off, sick leave, parental and family leave, health and dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with employer match, commuter benefits, and flexible spending account.
  • This position is covered under J Street's staff bargaining unit affiliated with IFPTE Local 70.
