Job Summary

As a Crewing Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless coordination of crew watch change processes for our maritime operations. You'll be responsible for maintaining a steady flow of properly credentialed and qualified mariners to crew our vessels, keeping them operational around the clock. **

Key Interactions**

You'll interact closely with various stakeholders including G&H employees, executive leadership, clients, mariners, industry associates, and third-party vendors. Collaboration with Human Resources and payroll departments will also be integral to your role. **

Job Responsibilities**

  • Coordinate crewing assignments for vessels across all operational ports, prioritizing business needs.
  • Ensure optimal crewing to maximize vessel operational hours, aiming for 24/7 coverage.
  • Oversee mariners in training programs, assigning them to vessels and tracking progress.
  • Regularly meet with port captains and port engineers to review crewing assignments and strategize.
  • Handle unforeseen circumstances such as mariner absences, vessel downtime, and increased operational demands with efficiency and flexibility.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced degree preferred. Extensive experience may be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the maritime industry preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office applications and internet tools.

Required Licensure & Certifications

  • Active and valid driver's license.
  • Valid merchant mariner credential preferred.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) preferred or ability to obtain.

  • Proficient in understanding and executing complex instructions.

  • Thorough understanding of U.S. Coast Guard credential requirements for vessel crewmembers.

Working Conditions

  • Standard work hours typically Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional flexibility for special tasks.
  • Out-of-region travel may be required for training or work-related events.
  • Work may be performed in-office or remotely based on department approval.

  • Support management or executive team with special projects as needed.
  • Complete assigned duties within agreed timeframes.
