Join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of others! We are looking for a Manager of Engineering for our Technology team. 

This is a remote position with potential travel into our main office located in New York or the FreedomCare hub closest to you.

Department & Position Overview:

The Manager of Engineering is responsible for the oversight of Salesforce Developers/Admins, Integrations Engineering, and Database teams. This role will be accountable for on time/quality delivery of various product/projects to market. This is a highly technical hands-on position that has responsibilities in Solution Design, Code Reviews, Estimation, Technical Sequencing, etc. The Manager will work with the technical lead (s) to design and develop custom solutions. Solutions may be highly customized, complex and include Integrations with 3rd party applications. This is a highly dynamic and fast paced environment that requires deep technical knowledge. This position reports to the VP, Business Optimization, and collaborates with a team of technical project managers, and front-end and back-end developers (including external development partners) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions. 

Every Day You Will:

  • Responsible for leading and oversight of 3 development teams – Salesforce, Integration, and Database 
  • Direct supervision of development team and managers, with multiple direct report responsibility including mentoring, training, 1:1’s, goal setting and reviews 
  • Designing and developing complex Salesforce Solutions 
  • Follow SDLC best practices in both agile environments and have sound experience with waterfall methodology 
  • Accountable for quality of code and achieving committed work by deadlines 
  • Responsible for resource estimations and resource planning aligned to priorities and projects 
  • Strong foundation and process improvement experience in Dev Ops (version control, deployment methodologies) 
  • Work with the team to design solutions that leverage Salesforce best practices and introduce new technologies 
  • Oversee intake of business requirements into well architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform 
  • Lead a team of Salesforce developers in complex custom developments of entire applications using Apex and LWC 
  • Conduct solution design, estimations, technical sequencing, code reviews, budget estimates for projects and enhancements 
  • Identify and recommend salesforce.com based solutions, integration points and related implementation architecture for business usage improvements, scalability and performance 
  • Integrate Salesforce with other applications using web services and API’s 
  • Identify any application/code security issues and recommend solutions to resolve them 
  • Keep up to date with all upcoming Salesforce updates and ensure all Salesforce Orgs remain operational 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Apex, VF and Salesforce application design and development experience 
  • 2+ years of Lighting Framework development experience (LWC) 
  • 3+ yrs of direct supervision of Salesforce development team (s) with multiple direct report responsibility including mentoring, training, 1:1’s, goal setting and reviews 
  • Solid knowledge and experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming techniques. 
  • Expertise in Apex development, including in Trigger Frameworks, TDTM, and governor limits 
  • Significant experience with Model View Controller, Custom API’s, Web Services, Rest API’s and Dev Ops 
  • Proven knowledge and expertise with complex custom development using Apex, Lightning component development, Salesforce Clouds, Salesforce Communities, API and web services integrations 
  • Proven experience with Object Oriented Programming, algorithms and multi-tenant system architecture, advanced knowledge of data structures and design patterns 
  • High development standards - zero-defect mind-set 
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required (Computer Science preferred) 
  • Advanced Degree preferred 
  • Advanced Salesforce certifications required – Platform Dev I, Platform Dev II, etc. 
  • 3+ years of directly managing a team of more than 5 people 
  • Jira/Confluence 
  • Bitbucket, Git or other Version Control Software experience 
  • Analytical problem solver who is passionate about delivering complex, quality solutions on time
