POSITION SUMMARY

KW Landscape Architects (KW) is seeking a progressive, experienced, Project Manager with an understanding of construction methodology, a good knowledge of plant materials, a confident design sense and the ability to see a project through from start to finish independently. This individual is resourceful, a self-starter, a problem solver, and a contributor in a collaborative design environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Team Leader/Mentor
    • Assist in the training and development of Landscape Associates and Project Coordinators
    • Review work of Associates and Coordinators, providing QA/QC for their tasks
    • Assist leadership with assigned tasks
    • Able to turnkey a project from start to completion in allotted timeframe
    • Understanding of project workflow, internal timelines and processes
    • Able to assemble a full set of construction documents with minimal direction from leadership
    • Identify items in need of coordination with other consultants and take appropriate measures to ensure proper coordination of those items
    • Be a collaborative and supportive team member
    • Assist with weekly hot list meetings and scheduling of projects
    • Have a strong understanding of project fees and how it relates to billing practices
    • Participate in AEC organizations outside of the office and build your professional network
    • Strong ability to communicate effectively with teammates, leaders, clients, vendors and contractors
    • Proactively provide project status updates to senior staff prior to completion
    • Maintain a strong understanding of company plant palette and application into design
  • Customer Support
    • Be available to speak with clients directly as needed
    • Able to work with clients professionally and efficiently
  • Talents & Skills
    • Able to assemble a full set of construction documents with minimal direction
    • Experience working from conceptual design through construction
    • Expertise in using a wide range of design tools from hand sketching to digital modeling
    • Experience with the preparation of construction documents & construction detailing
    • Ability to meet deadlines, respond to project delivery & work effectively
    • Ability to manage a project through from conceptual design to construction administration
    • Strong organization and time management skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
    • Revit experience a plus
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture from an accredited college
  • 4+ years of experience working for firms that provide services similar to KW
  • Landscape Architectural Registration or actively working toward Landscape Architectural Registration
  • Can use a widening variety of software (Sketchup, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office & 365, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
  • Ability to learn and use company preferred software used for drawing, project planning, office communications etc.
  • Authorized to work in the United States
