Overview
As a Junior WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites using the Divi Builder and/or Elementor framework. Collaborating with our brand strategists, project managers, and design teams, you will take signed-off website designs and mock-ups and reproduce them into visually appealing and user-friendly bespoke websites that align with our clients’ needs and brand identities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop bespoke WordPress websites using Divi Builder or Elementor, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and optimal user experience
- Collaborate with our in-house design and content teams to translate Adobe XD mock-ups and wireframes into functional web pages
- Customise and extend Divi Builder and Elementor functionalities through custom coding, plugins, and integrations as needed
- Optimise websites for speed, SEO, and performance
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure seamless website functionality across various browsers and devices
- Stay updated with the latest web technologies, trends, and best practices in WordPress, Divi Builder and/or Elementor development
Background Requirements
- A minimum of 6/12 months experience designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress sites with expertise in Divi Builder or/and Elementor
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP (PHP not essential)
- Understanding of MySQL preferred but not essential and training will be provided
- Strong understanding of responsive web design principles
- Experience in customising WordPress themes and plugins
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimisation techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Full UK driving license and ability to commute to our rural offices located in Long Ashton, Bristol (BS41)
