Role: Quality Analyst

Type: Permanent

Location: Remote

The Quality Analyst (QA) ensures that our software products meet high-quality standards by working closely with the development team. They create and execute test plans to thoroughly test new features before releasing software. They help the team improve their testing processes and adherence to quality standards, delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs. They are fully involved in the development lifecycle, meaning quality starts from day one. Although everyone in the team is responsible for quality, QAs tend to drive this and lead by example to promote good working practices, as well as being at the forefront when identifying product risks.

Role Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with software developers and QA Analysts to understand software workflows, use cases and specifications in order to ensure quality across the application:
  • Collaborate with the product owner, developers and other stakeholders to clarify user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Create and execute test cases, focusing on both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Prepare Test Scenarios, Test Cases for the product, and Test Data for test cases.
  • Conduct exploratory testing to uncover defects and provide valuable feedback.
  • Analyse the requirements and extract acceptance criteria from user stories.
  • Understand the functionality of the feature.
  • Work closely with the development team in all phases of development.
  • Attend and provide input into all scrum rituals i.e. Stand ups (provide feedback and blockers), Sprint Planning (input into story weighting), User story refinement (do analysis on a story and help to define acceptance criteria), and Retrospectives (provide feedback into continuous improvement).
  • Communicate test progress, issues, and risks to the team and stakeholders.
  • Participate in preparing Test Plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Test Environment (eg. Data preparation per client, ensuring correct configurations etc) to execute the test cases.

  • Analyse/peer review the Test Cases prepared by other team members.
  • Log and track defects/bugs, supplying the mandatory information required.
  • Retest the fixed defects to ensure it is fixed.
  • Prepare and execute Regression Test Cases.
  • Provide reports and metrics on quality status (incl. Progress of testing, Defects found and recurrence etc)
  • Identify test cases for automation.
  • Work with the Quality Engineer (QE) to enable Knowledge Transfer (KT) and provide direction in terms of automation.
  • Stay abreast of testing technologies and strive to develop technical testing skills i.e. API testing, Database skills, Test Management Tools, Version Control, CI/CD, Mobile Testing, Test Data Management, Log Analysis, and Agile and DevOps practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • ISTQB Foundation Level at a minimum
  • Knowledge on Test Data Management
  • Knowledge with Test Reporting Frameworks
  • Device level testing experience
  • Experience within an Agile/Scrum/ Kanban environment
  • Experience with Jira and confluence
  • Experience in API testing (Prefer Postman/Karate / Rest Assured)
  • Experience in Appium (Mobile)/ Selenium (Web)/ integration testing
  • Good knowledge of automated testing processes, methodologies and software development lifecycles
  • Proficiency/Knowledge working in C# .Net environment
  • Self-driven, Self-sufficient, with strong problem-solving skills Preferred Technical Experience
  • Experience with Test Management Tools preferably Xray
  • Postman, Jira
  • Experience in .Net Core Skills (C#)
  • SQL Experience
