Job description

We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate.  We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.

At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters.  Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!

Ochsner Health's John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a BC/BE CARDIOLOGIST to care for inpatients in our CCU and Step-Down Unit, in New Orleans, LOUISIANA.

The Ochsner Medical Center's Department of Cardiology includes 36 cardiovascular physicians working together to achieve the best possible patient access, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. We are perennially recognized as one of the top Heart and Heart Surgery programs in the nation.  Individuals who enjoy direct patient care in a group practice setting, teaching medical students, medicine residents and cardiology fellows, and participating in clinical research programs to enhance quality and safety of patient care thrive at Ochsner.

The dedicated inpatient cardiology CCU service provides care 7 am to 7 pm, working one week on and one week off.  There is a separate advanced heart failure and cardiology transplant inpatient service.  Opportunities exist for teaching medical residents and cardiology fellows, leadership development, and participation in clinical research. We offer an attractive compensation and benefit package including paid malpractice coverage, generous retirement benefits (401k, 403b, deferred compensation plans), and a CME allowance.
