Job description

We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate.  We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.

At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters.  Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!

The Ochsner Cancer Institute of Ochsner Health is seeking a BC/BE HEMATOLOGIST ONCOLOGIST to join its expanding multidisciplinary team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The successful candidate will join a local team of board certified Hematologist/Oncologists and Advanced Practice Providers in a robust office practice with a large referral base. The Ochsner Cancer Institute is a multi-site program leading cancer care across Louisiana and the Gulf South – from Lake Charles, Louisiana into coastal Mississippi. The Baton Rouge Cancer Center is a growing, integrated enterprise across 2 sites, featuring multidisciplinary clinics with surgical subspecialists, radiation oncology, and robust connections to subspeciality leaders at the system hub at the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center in New Orleans. The Baton Rouge practice is further enhanced by access to the Ochsner Cancer Institute clinical research portfolio, including the region’s only Phase 1 program, plus a number of innovative digital programs. The Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baton Rouge is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion to support the rapid growth of the programs in this region, and over $100 million has been invested in the Ochsner Cancer Institute over the past 3 years.

Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of only seven MD Anderson Cancer Center partners in the country and the only one in Louisiana. It joins a collaborative network of hospitals and health care systems dedicated to advancing MD Anderson’s mission to improve the quality and accessibility of cancer care and research. As such, Ochsner MD Anderson patients in southeastern Louisiana receive care based on the same protocols and practice standards provided at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, and benefit from integration with its clinicians and researchers. Ochsner MD Anderson experts adhere to the philosophy, process and guidelines of MD Anderson’s clinical leadership, and they provide a full range of multidisciplinary care options, including medical oncology, surgery and radiation.

These are exciting times for the future of cancer care in Louisiana – come join our team!
