Summary:This position is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of the assigned technology team while ensuring the delivery and support of quality projects and software releases. This role supports and leads implementing the team strategy as part of the broader technology department strategy. This role ensures the design and delivery of effective client implementation and solutions engagements. This role is a key senior technical resource, guiding the implementations and solution strategies for clients and will work closely with all areas of the business, including project management, operations, development, architecture, product, sales and clients.

Responsibilities : - Establish and implement the strategic direction of the team. - Prioritize workforce planning and hiring efforts to focus on key roles and work with HR to efficiently recruit qualified candidates. - Engage and communicate across multiple levels in the department. - Develop strategies and new initiatives within the team to advance on an organizational and technical level for both the Development team and the technology department. - Define, measure and report on goals and KPIs to determine performance and maintain quality service and documentation within the team. - Drive high throughput and all connected key metrics on a strategic level. - Tests playbooks of Product for new capabilities and develops implementation plans and configuration guides for the playbooks. - Provide implementation oversight and direction for the team, troubleshooting. - Design and document technical solutions, managing implementations and deliverables. - Facilitate creation of technical roadmaps and business cases that illustrate how the organization will move towards a future growth and attaining business goals. - Facilitate with coordination of Beta product testing. - Assist with evaluation of vendors and technology. - Seek to understand stakeholders’ pain points and objectives and propose solutions based on their needs. - Direct, advise and provide input into good technical design and industry trends, authoring relevant documentation as required. - Analyze and evaluate requirements and propose high level design and technical solutions at all stages of development. - Analyze solutions to ensure that they will be interoperable, performant and maintainable. - Accountable for ensuring that relevant documentation and frameworks are kept up to date. - Research technologies that will be used in new and existing modules of the solution (e.g. Machine Learning frameworks, data storage and capture frameworks etc.). - Oversee all technical aspects of assigned projects, collaborating with management as needed. - Collaborate closely with all areas of the business whole providing leadership to gather product requirements and design, implement and test components of the system. - Understand the competitive landscape within our industry. - Keep up to date with new technologies that could be beneficial to the organization and contribute to and attend industry conferences to understand what new technologies are available. - Collaborate with senior leadership across the company to align to strategic imperatives and technology strategy, troubleshooting as needed. - Execution and management of all implementation and solutions processes and procedures. - Manage and create best practices for the team; work towards goals and KPIs used to measure performance and maintain quality service and documentation within the team. - Oversee team allocation by ensuring that each associate has a manageable workload and reallocating resources with the team as needed. - Establish clearly defined goals, objectives, responsibilities, competencies, and development plans for all direct roles on the team. - Develop and regularly maintain industry trends and best practices as well as in-depth knowledge of Smile product(s), business objectives and vision. - Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in NetSuite on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked as billable and that the project management tool in NetSuite is properly and fully utilized. Tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability. - Comply with the privacy, security and confidentiality policies.

Requirements: - Experience in the following: FHIR, HL7 v2.x, identity federation (particularly OAuth2/OpenID Connect and SAML), database design and administration, encryption and security, cloud PaaS and IaaS deployments, Java programming for enterprise applications. - Minimum 10 years experience managing, designing, developing and delivering software solutions. - Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field is an asset. - Minimum of 8 years of people management and leadership of technical staff with demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills. - Experience in the healthcare industry required. - Experience with Agile, Scrum, waterfall and iterative methodologies is an asset. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients and teams. - Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving abilities. - Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and managing complex situations with ability to identify and address challenges proactively, fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration. - Excellent communication skills, both written and oral - you’re comfortable leading meetings, documenting your ideas and able to persuade others. - Experience in the healthcare or health insurance industry is an asset. - Knowledge of industry standards and architectural best practices with demonstrated experience in developing scalable processes and solutions. - Experience working in high-growth companies, identifying and building capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the business.
