The incumbent will work as part of a dynamic Learning and Development team and in collaboration with the Manager, Learning and Development (L&D), the Training Assistant, is a key role within the Learning and Development team for supporting the administrative and coordination related tasks within the Canadian Red Cross. **

In this role, you will:**

  • Review and support with the design, delivery, planning and implementation of learning solutions and paths.
  • Support with overall coordination across the L+D life cycle which includes support to design activities, planning and coordination of delivery, inputting course rosters to associated platforms and maintenance of learning materials.
  • Maintain L&D trackers, uploading completion reports, reviewing discrepancies and working with the Data team on flow.
  • Assists with developing surveys, compiling results, and preparing appropriate reports for Learning solutions/paths.
  • Perform basic LMS tasks like creating pages in the LMS and uploading learning paths/ solutions when needed.
  • Update and maintain the document and folder structure and information sharing process.
  • Review and revise written and visual training materials and job aids.
  • Create and review promotional materials to market available training programs and courses.
  • L+D mailbox management-ensures prompt response to program client/learner inquiries.
  • Support hiring managers with onboarding and orientation processes of new team members e.g., equipment requests, distributions lists, support tools/access to tools etc.
  • Contributes to a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as required

What we are looking for:

  • Certificate in Business Administration, Instructional Design or relevant field.
  • Two years experience in a project/program support role or similar job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge and ability in using business support processes and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Smartsheets, SharePoint, Moodle, databases and/or other tracking systems).
  • Superior organizational skills and keen attention to details and timelines are essential.
  • Resilience and adaptability to changing circumstances and an evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines/turnaround times.
  • Strong relationship building and customer service skills, demonstrated attention to client objectives and quality assurance.
  • Fluency in English; working proficiency in French an asset.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to coordinate a variety of event variables.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Commitment to gender equality and social inclusion.

Working conditions:

  • May include long to moderate hours sitting and using computers and office equipment.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours is required, including working weekends and evenings occasionally.
  • May be required to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time up to 20 kg (or another weight).
  • Events require a higher than usual physical effort during the preparation phase which includes transport of event materials (lifting and carrying boxes, setting up and dismantling displays).
  • Ability to work in fast paced, stressful and often ambiguous conditions.
  • This position may require travel to attend conferences, workshops and meetings as required.
