The impact you will make:**

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic VP, US Marketing . This individual working in collaboration with VP, US Sales and VP, US Market Access is accountable for achieving revenue and business performance goals, for setting the brand strategy for hemolytic anemia in adults with PK deficiency, and for the launch preparations for alpha- and beta-thalassemia, sickle cell disease, and pediatric PK deficiency in the US. The VP, US Marketing is also responsible for developing in-country situational assessments, strategic plans, and tactical plans to maximize local business opportunities and overcome barriers for relevant indications. The VP, US Marketing will accomplish goals and objectives by leading in-country teams including marketing and field marketing. The VP, US Marketing reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer. **

What you will do:**

  • Accountable for setting the strategy and achieving business objectives for hemolytic anemia in adults with PK deficiency
  • Accountable for new indication/product launch success in the U.S.: building commercial strategy, developing right organizational structure and capabilities to ensure uptake and to drive revenue goals starting with the potential launch of Pyrukynd in Thalassemia
  • Accountable for commercial goals including patient identification and activation, demand generation, access and supporting appropriate utilization resulting in attainment of revenue goals
  • Drive development of overall commercial strategy and ensure effective execution of HCP, patient, digital marketing as well as Field Marketing tactics
  • Collaborate with Global Commercial Strategy team, US Sales team, US Market Access team and other key cross-functional partners (e.g., Patient Services, Medical Affairs, HEOR, COA etc.) to achieve revenue and commercial goals
  • Ensure strong understanding of all aspects of business through strong analytical assessment, business intelligence including primary and secondary data, targets and segmentation, and overall key performance indicators
  • Build and manage effective teams and foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Ensure strategic alignment, resource allocation, and budget management across indications

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science related field
  • Minimum 15 years of commercial experience in the biopharma industry including US HCP,
  • Recent US Patient & US Digital Marketing experience in non-oncology indication and Field experience
  • Prior experience leading multiple teams in cross-functional environments
  • US launch experience across several therapeutic areas and ideally including non-malignant hematology
  • Mix of strategic commercial experience and expertise from US and Global
  • Strong clinical and commercial understanding of rare diseases, including rare blood indications and experience in commercial strategy and go-to-market models
  • Exceptional ability to organize and simply communicate complex data, and an interest and ability to align others behind a strategy across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, must be able to gain credibility, engender trust and influence all levels.
  • Agility to search and respond to drivers of changes, challenge the status quo, turn data into insights, insights into actions, mobilize resources, and learn with an open mind
  • Accountability to make timely decisions with well-balanced analysis and intuition, drive execution excellence, strong project management skills
  • Experience in leading and development of diverse marketing and field-based teams
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, highly collaborative, and fast-paced environment. Naturally connects and builds strong relationships with others (including executive management), demonstrating emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
  • Customer focus, displayed by the ability to engage actively with the diverse needs of internal stakeholders, adaptable and flexible approach to meeting business needs

Work Location:

Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description. **
