Your missions

Market-leading cloud accounting business is seeking an Assistant Financial Manager to join their ever-growing team in their Cape Town office. The suitable candidate will be responsible for helping a manager with a team of cloud accountants oversee their clients and all their accounting requirements. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week at home and 3 days in-office.


This role will be ideal for an individual who has completed their 3 year articles and is currently in their 1st or 2nd year post articles. 


Responsibilities: 


  • Monthly accounting and processing for SMEs.
  • Payroll processing via Simple Pay.
  • Legislative processing (i.e All SARS types of returns - VAT, PAYE, ITR)
  • Engaging with clients and solving accounting problems.
  • Provisional Tax calculations and discussions with clients.
  • Communicating with clients on accounting needs and processing. Building strong client relationships.
  • Ad-hoc accounting project work, queries and advice as requested from clients.
  • Managing a team and providing financial management support to SMEs.


Requirements



  • Someone who wants to learn and is willing to take on new challenges. This will suit someone who enjoys the idea of working with start-ups and small businesses. 
  • Someone who wants to learn and grow and has a good knowledge of working on computers and the ability to learn various software packages.
  • Degree/Honours Degree in Management Accounting or Accounting.
  • You are on track to attain your CA (SA), CGMA, or Professional Accountant (SA), with completed articles.
  • Experience in cloud base systems such as XERO, Dext/Hubdoc, SimplePay, Dear Systems, Vend.
  • Experience in drafting Annual Financial Statements on CaseWare or DraftWorx
  • Experience in a client-facing role 
  • Experience in filing provisional tax and income tax returns (Companies and Individuals)
  • 1+ years experience in managing people
