Job description

Technical Architect, Mainframe
Duration: 1 year contract
Location: 100% Remote - in future may negotiate a week for them to come onsite, at client expense. MUST be available for East Coast hours 8/9AM- 5PM EST.

·       This individual will be helping to move from mainframe to the cloud, work on the infrastructure and understand it.
·       Client is a cloud first company, looking at anything moving forward will live on the cloud. Public cloud is their ultimate target.
·       They have some exposure on AWS. Has some Azure. Their goal is to be cloud agnostic and use multiple clouds. May have to federate with local cloud providers around the world - Alibaba in China for example.
·       Client has enterprise architect group driving the move to the cloud.
·       This person must have experience working on large enterprise systems.
·       Responsible for helping drive meetings and understanding the move from Mainframe to the Cloud. It will not be very hands-on, but rather more consultative, acting as an advisor, providing documentation at a strategic level.
·       Client is seeking someone who has been in a Technical Architect role on a Mainframe in their previous experience.
·       Needs architectural background in mainframe EITHER:
·       IBM zOS
OR
TPF (transaction processing - this is what they use for their reservation system) same architecture they use. Transactional oriented.
