Data Analyst

We  are seeking a seasoned Data Analyst to gather and analyze enterprise data and provide insight to support decision making at all  levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong  background in information technology, with proficiency in Power BI,  extensive experience in data preprocessing and reporting, and a proven  ability to prepare and present insightful analyses. The candidate should  also be familiar with project management tools such as Jira, and have  experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Proficiency in SQL or  Python is highly desired.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities.
• Examine data sets to find trends and develop visualizations/reports.
• Produce actionable insights and advice for management decision-making, and communicate findings to employees.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support decision-making processes 
• Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into a usable format for analysis.
• Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies in the data analytics space.

NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability  to pass a 7-year background check and be able to obtain a US Public  Trust (Preference may be given to candidates with prior DHS experience)
• Must work during Eastern Standard Time business hours to meet customer requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Must have critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management skills and working within aggressive delivery schedules.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, Statistics).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in the information technology field.
• Proven expertise in using Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Strong  background in data preprocessing and cleansing techniques, including  importing, merging, rebuilding, standardizing, normalizing, and  verifying data. 
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools such as Jira.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven past success as data analyst working with all levels of management in a corporate or federal  

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)
• Experience working with Agile methodologies in a Scrum or Kanban environment. 
• Knowledge of programming languages (SQL and Python)
