We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WMS Operations Manager with a strong background in Manhattan Associates' Active Warehouse Management for a critical role within our Client's organization.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the Manhattan Associates Active WMS platform and a proven track record of effectively implementing, managing, and optimizing this system in a large-scale, dynamic warehouse environment with multiple distribution centers.
This individual will work predominately on a remote basis. The Client's strong preference is for this individual to be located in the Atlanta, GA area for occasional onsite meetings, but candidates located in the Eastern and Central Time Zones will be considered on a remote basis with occasional travel to Atlanta._**
Key Responsibilities**_ - Lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Manhattan Associates Active WMS. - Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective WMS solutions. - Coordinate with IT and operational teams to ensure smooth integration of the WMS with other systems. - Provide training and support to users, ensuring optimal use of the WMS functionalities. - Monitor system performance, identifying and resolving any issues proactively. - Keep abreast of the latest WMS trends and technologies, recommending upgrades and enhancements. - Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures. - Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve warehouse processes and efficiency. - Design and implement advanced strategies for space optimization, inventory control, and workflow efficiency within the WMS environment. - Lead cross-functional projects to enhance warehouse operational capabilities, leveraging Active WMS features. - Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in warehouse management. - Develop custom reports and dashboards within the WMS for real-time monitoring of key performance indicators. - Facilitate effective change management processes when implementing new features or updates in the WMS. - Work closely with the management team to align the WMS capabilities with the overall business objectives and goals. - Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors and partners related to the WMS. - Engage in strategic planning and forecasting to anticipate future needs of the warehouse in terms of system functionality and capacity. - Facilitate innovative solutions to complex logistical challenges using WMS tools and features. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback from system users and incorporating it into system enhancements.
Qualifications
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems, or a related field. - Equivalent professional experience will be considered as an alternative to a relevant degree.
Relevant Experience - Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management systems, experience with Active WMS is critical. - Proven track record in implementing and managing WMS in a large-scale distribution environment, including staying up to date with, and implementing new features and functionalities of a Tier-1 WMS.
Technical Proficiency - Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. - Expertise in system configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. - Familiarity with integration of WMS with ERP, transportation management, and other related systems. - Knowledge of reporting tools and data analytics.
Project Management Skills - Experience in leading cross-functional projects and managing timelines. - Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong leadership qualities and team management skills. - Ability to work effectively with diverse teams including IT, operations, and external stakeholders. - Ability to manage relationships with Vendors.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities - Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. - Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative and efficient solutions.
