Your missions

Zurich’s Risk Engineering Energy Casualty Team is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant with casualty OGP (oil, gas, petroleum) experience. This role includes account engineering responsibilities. This is a work from home role based in Texas or Louisiana servicing customers within OK, TX, and LA as well as nationwide. This role includes a company car and expected travel is 50 to 60%.

Sr Risk Engineering Consultant Job Duties Include:

  • Manage account risk portfolio and provide account level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
  • Developing and implementing customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve customer operations.
  • Provide engineering support to underwriting team by attending client and broker meetings.
  • Monitor property & casualty mining account engineering services to ensure that delivery is proper, on-time, and cost effective.
  • Perform field engineering assessments to evaluate casualty, pollution exposures and controls at insured locations in the USA. Advanced consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and management programs
  • Assist in marketing Zurich risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.

Our unique approach to the risk assessment process ensures that, no matter where the customer is in the world and the type of risk, we are able to deliver the same consistent level of service they need. And the key to ensuring that every customer receives that same exemplary level of service is the Zurich Risk Engineering Fundamentals. Our risk engineers have more face-to-face time with customers than any other part of the Group. Everything that we do is built around our customers, and focused on helping them understand and protect their businesses from risk.

Final candidates will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check as this position includes a company car.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the oil, gas, petroleum area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the oil, gas, petroleum area OR
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 6 or more years of experience in the oil, gas, petroleum area AND
  • Experience working in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably OGP Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a Downstream, Mid-stream and/or upstream operations.
  • Account Executive & Loss control/Risk Engineering experience within the insurance industry
  • Strong written, communication, and consultative skills
  • Outstanding collaborative skills
  • High degree of proficiency related to PC and Software or systems
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Able to conduct presentations with large and small groups at all business levels.
  • Familiar with OSHA, DOT and OGP safety & Fleet management programs
