Your missions

Summary

The Sr. Informatics Analyst is responsible for the development of data systems that support the informational needs of the Office of Cancer Survivorship and for coordinating the design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and optimization of related data management systems, including program dashboards. Impacts data management practices, operational/technological efficiencies, and quality improvement/research projects for the Office of Cancer Survivorship. Disseminates data reports to support the operational, quality, and research needs of the program. **

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES**

Develops And Maintains Office Of Cancer Survivorship Database

  • Creates novel, and maintains existing, databases, to generate analysis-ready datasets and reports.
  • Requires use of query tools (SAS, SQL, or other), and visualization software (Power BI, WebI, Microsoft Access, Excel, or other) to build and update reports as directed by program leadership.
  • Identifies data gaps and creates new queries and reports to support needs.

Report Development

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of programmatic operational dashboard through Power BI.
  • In collaboration with Operations Director, identifies data needs and develops, tests, and publishes data reports.
  • Provides ad hoc reports as requested by external stakeholders related to clinical, operational, and quality projects.

Subject Matter Expert For Institutional Data Systems

  • Excellent proficiency in REDCap, SAP BI Web Intelligence, SQL Server Management Studio, and institutional databases (Tumor Registry, FIRE, EIW, Epic Universe).
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for data related to the Survivorship program.
  • Participates in validation projects with EHR reporting team, including Patient Reported Outcomes Universe development.

Participates In Institutional And Program-specific Working Groups

  • Member of Cancer Survivorship Steering Committee, Clinical Care Workgroup, and Patient Reported Outcomes Committee.
  • Provides data reports related to clinical and operational metrics at each meeting.
  • Attends and participates in working groups, user groups, and committee meetings related to institutional informatics and analytics.
  • Shares OCS progress/updates/feedback with external groups and brings back information/solutions/suggestions for internal team review/discussion/implementation.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree in related field. **

Experience**

Required: Six years of related business, finance or project/process management experience to include three years in a healthcare setting. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. **

Preferred**

  • Extensive data management and analysis experience.
  • SQL coding experience.
  • VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) programming experience.
  • SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and MS Access experience.
  • Previous experience working at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
