Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for documenting and maintaining Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRamp) System Security Plans (SSPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Security Assessment Plans (SAPs). As a Technical Writer in our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and comprehensive documentation of our information systems' security controls, processes, and assessments in compliance with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRamp) standards. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to gather information, analyze security controls, and produce comprehensive and accurate documentation that aligns with FedRamp requirements. **

Responsibilities**

Collaborate with subject matter experts, system administrators, and security professionals to gather information required for FedRamp documentation.

Analyze security controls and evaluate their effectiveness, ensuring compliance with FedRamp guidelines.

Prepare and maintain FedRamp System Security Plans (SSPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Security Assessment Plans (SAPs).

Create clear, concise, and accurate documentation that meets FedRamp requirements and addresses the specific needs of the organization.

Review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in security controls or operational procedures.

Work closely with internal teams to understand technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly and comprehensible language.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligns with organizational policies and procedures.

Conduct quality assurance checks on documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and changes in FedRamp guidelines to maintain a high level of expertise.

Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other activities to gather information and promote knowledge sharing. **

Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Technical Communication) or equivalent experience. **

5-7 Years Experience Required**

Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a government or regulated environment.

Strong knowledge of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRamp) and its documentation requirements.

Familiarity with security controls, risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53), and information security best practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather information from diverse sources and synthesize it into comprehensive documentation.

Experience with version control systems and document management tools is a plus.

Familiarity with cloud computing, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) concepts is desirable.

Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are a plus.
