Sales Training Manager, Urology

Reports to: Director of Commercial Training & Enablement **

Role Description: This individual will be tasked with all Urology training for that BU, including the revision of new hire training for all Urology representatives. With Prolaris being our most profitable product, and MyRisk being our flagship product, we need an expert to work collaboratively to ensure that our field messaging and training is superior to competitors. This person will be responsible for working with Product, Marketing, Sales Leadership, and Team Trainers to keep our Prolaris and MyRisk training relevant and world-class.

Responsibilities**

  • Travel requirements up to 25%
  • Presentation Skills - must be able to provide clear direction, present in a variety of settings, utilize time management skills, be flexible and apply adult learning principles.
  • Program Development - Assess the needs of new and experienced Account Executives to identify areas for program development and enhancement. These programs will be delivered in Salt Lake City or during quarterly area meetings.
  • Content Creation - Develop and maintain content for new hire training as well as ongoing training. Create tools for the sales representatives to use both internally and within their LMS.
  • Content Expertise – Knowledge of the germline genetics, somatic testing, the Urology space, and competitive landscape.
  • Program delivery- Effectively motivate and train the entire sales force on existing and new products. Minimum of four new Account Executive training programs annually. Additionally, continued education for field-based representatives on an ongoing basis.
  • Program evaluation- Conduct field visits and utilize surveys to assess effectiveness of programs delivered. Make changes as necessary.
  • Coaching - ability to diagnose trainees' skill level and determine needs of development, coach on performance and behavioral issues, provide encouraging and constructive feedback.
  • Planning - manage multiple activities, collaborate with internal team members proactively, develop effective training content, agendas and workshops.
  • Leadership - model personal and professional values, align department goals with corporate strategy, develop effective relationships, build team synergy within & across all commercialization teams, maintain a strong connection/ presence with the sales force and marketplace.
  • Teamwork - work well in a team environment, gain trust & support of peers, find common ground & provide solutions, manage resources (people, funding, material, support) to accomplish stated goals.
  • Internal networking- work with the departments of Marketing, Medical Services and Customer Service to develop tools to support the Sales Organization in this and other initiatives. Provide feedback and input on any initiatives that are in development. To be part of constant communication between the cross-functional commercialization team to ensure that all relative information is shared with and communicated to the Sales Organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 3 years selling to Health Care Professionals in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Diagnostic Industries
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • LMS Content creation experience is preferred.
  • If no LMS experience, this person would need sales experience, in-depth generic testing landscape knowledge, cross-team collaboration, and ability to learn content creation.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Medical Affairs, etc.
  • The ability to teach both product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical & Lifting Requirements

  • Lifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, and observing.
  • Use of equipment, technology, and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
