Job description

This is a remote position.

Call for Experts: 

USAID, MCC, USTDA Experts in Health, Climate, and Cybersecurity Sectors


IDG is actively building a roster of consultants who can provide expert knowledge in project implementation particularly in the health and climate sectors, The consultants will be contracted on an as-needed basis and will work closely with IDG’s business development teams and Chief of Parties to potentially be hired as key personnel, and short/long term technical experts for projects  issued by USTDA, USAID, MCC, and other donors as assigned. The consultants will offer in-depth knowledge in health, digitalization, cybersecurity, and climate innovation fields and will be responsible for providing background information as well as applicable solutions in the target technical areas. The consultants will either serve as lead technical approach writers or support IDG’s in-house technical writers for proposals in response to solicitations. 


IDG is recruiting a range of experts in one or more of the following technical sectors: 

  • Digital infrastructure, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, electronic medical records, and telemedicine

  • Financing models and management best practices

  • Genomics 

  • Healthcare (health supply chains, rural healthcare, digitalization of healthcare, procurement of medical devices, and healthcare delivery, U.S. export of healthcare (diagnostic imaging, CT scanning))

  • Cybersecurity Solutions 

  • Climate Innovation & Climate Smart Transportation 


Key Consultant Tasks:  

  • Provide training for foreign decision makers to support the sale of U.S. equipment and services overseas 

  • Report writing 

  • Support technical assistance and documentation, which may include research for project, identification of project sponsors and speakers, preparation of project resource guides, training materials, conference books and other material, for use during reverse trade missions, conferences, workshops, trainings and other events. 

  • Coordinate  foreign project sponsors, officials, and others to the United States to observe the design, manufacture, demonstration, and operation of U.S. products and services that can potentially help them achieve their developmental goals.

  • Provide expert advice and sector specific knowledge to achieve project goals and objectives. 



Requirements

The relevant knowledge and skills set where we seek consultants include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of international trade, including industry/sector expertise and trade capacity building, with the capability to identify the foreign delegates, U.S. businesses, site visits, and business briefings which will most effectively accomplish USTDA’s intent with respect to a particular RTM, Conference, Workshop, Training, or such similar events, 

  • Expertise in organizing major RTMs, Conferences, Workshops, Trainings, or such similar events both within the United States and abroad, both in-person and virtually 

  • Expertise in identifying and securing appropriate speakers at events related to U.S. company commercial opportunities in developing and middle-income countries 

  • International and domestic travel planning and implementation 

  • Expertise in marketing events and using social media tools to publicize events in advance as well as to disseminate information about an event while it is taking place 

  • Expertise in diplomatic protocol and in managing foreign delegations in the United States and overseas 

  • Expertise in capturing and documenting the outcomes of international trade events, with specific attention to capturing outcomes that directly facilitate the achievement of increased trade and U.S. export objectives.
