Role Overview

NOTE: This job description is intended as a sample of the most common responsibilities/skills for our Business Managers. Additional requirements for each project will be discussed during the interview process. 

As a Business Manager, your specialty is stepping back to see the big picture, identifying risk and opportunity, and understanding how innovation applied to process, tooling, analytics and culture will elevate the organization, driving scale and unlocking growth. You use your stellar communications skills to set priorities and expectations for the team (and clients) clearly and effectively. Operating with a high EQ, you are a steward for clients and peers alike, navigating complex dynamics to routinely delivering on time, on budget, and exceeding expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the operating rhythm of business ensuring the effectiveness of the broad team's ROB (Town Halls, OKRs, all-hands meetings, LT syncs, new team member onboarding, etc.), developing and implementing key business reviews + supporting collateral and setting up processes across the organization and across teams to efficiently get work done.
  • Drive a positive culture within the organization by managing cultural activities and the rhythm of business including utilizing MS Poll numbers to determine gaps, meeting with reports to help capture ideas and areas of improvement, planning and running team bonding activities, and actively measuring employee satisfaction.
  • Create and maintain an editorial calendar of org-wide communications and the Executives’ speaking engagements.
  • Partner with the Executive and their Leadership Team to develop learning and training plans for team members.
  • Drive high-impact cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and ensure the team is achieving commitments.
  • Manage the team’s budget all-up including maintaining quarterly seasonality, ensuring expenditures align with budget and key dates, etc.
  • Develop resources (PowerPoint) to communicate client objectives and needs, report metrics and KPIs, and build consensus on future state planning.
  • Identify key metrics to measure success of strategic investments; use data to identify optimization points to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Provide consultation and advice to the team on resource planning and participate in overall group strategy decisions and assist in implementing policies and procedures while focusing on maximizing the success of the team

About You

  • Multiple years of experience with project management, program management, management consulting and/or industry practitioner.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: digital marketing, marketing strategy, marketing technology, business operations, customer experience strategy and design, customer insights and analytics.
  • Superior communication and client-facing skills; able to engage with multiple-stakeholder teams.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with others in high-pressure situations and to manage productively through conflict.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts with deep content knowledge.
  • Motivated, self-starting, comfortable with high rates of change — and with a natural desire to accept challenges and diverse assignments.
  • Able to work effectively remotely (and across time zones, when necessary).
