Job description

The Sr. HR Workday Payroll Analyst is responsible for the configuration, implementation and support of the US payroll module in Workday, with the goal of providing excellent system reliability, performance, availability and overall system optimization. The incumbent will be responsible for working with the HR and Payroll teams to support continuous improvement including supporting the bi-annual releases of the Workday system. **

Responsibilities:**

  • Responsible for leading and facilitating the design and architecture of the payroll module(s) in the Workday system including – state tax exceptions, creating and maintaining W2 configuration, earnings and deduction codes and calculation fields, banking information, and GL mapping and posting rules. Payroll setup configuration knowledge such as period schedules, pay groups, and run categories also required.
  • Working knowledge of report writing, business processes, configurable security, organizations, and calculated fields also a plus.
  • Manage, develop, and consult with the functional teams including close ties with integrations, benefits, time tracking, and absence to incorporate the requirements and processes within the Workday system. Working knowledge of TRESS payroll application is a plus.
  • Provide technical leadership to the project team by evaluating and proposing technical alternatives for resolving business and technology issues. Review proposed changes to identify opportunities for reuse and process improvement.
  • Work closely with the System Integrator as well as other vendors that contribute to the overall HRIS application and infrastructure landscape, including managing escalations to management as appropriate.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies
  • Reviews feedback from stakeholders and implements solutions that work best for the team
  • Identify GAPs in business requirements during early stages of the project
  • Ensure there is proper documentation across the design that meets organization and audit guidelines
  • Support the Workday system by overseeing the configuration moves through the environments, scheduling of batch jobs and reports, and contributing to the maintenance of the Workday system to ensure business continuity
  • Routinely review, plan, and apply the Workday releases and ensure the system is kept updated with both optional and required configuration updates.

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in HR or IT related field
  • 3+ years of experience configuring Workday payroll
  • Proven ability to organize and plan the Workday implementation, development through deployment and the ongoing support model
  • Detailed understanding & extensive experience in implementation of large-scale transformation projects in HR
  • Excellent oral communication along with strong written skills to be able to convey messages that have the desired effect
  • Ability to set expectations and deliver the development across the Workday configuration team
  • Good understanding of estimation methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to drive deadlines with the team

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $81,640-$144,560. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
