Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Lead Azure DevOps Engineer in in our National Cloud & API Practice. While our headquarters location is St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States and will be working CT and ET zones.

Candidates for the DevOps Lead Engineer position typically major in computer science, or a computer related field, and have 5 to 10 years of work experience in a related IT field. As a DevOps consultant you will work closely with technical leads and developers of various teams to implement process improvements in various domains including: infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), Azure resource configuration, data pipeline automation (Azure Data Factory) and other DataOps functions. You will help implement DevOps related tools and processes within our client organizations.

Responsibilities**

  • Follow direction from project leads to implement Azure platform data transfer requirements
  • Interact and support cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release Azure infrastructure definitions via Terraform automation
  • Work with infrastructure as code (IaC) automation using support of client Azure based computing platform management.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Azure resource configuration, including networking, secrets protection, pass-through authentication, and Azure monitoring.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in various DataOps domains (data transfer automation, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, CI/CD best practices, etc.)
  • Implement GitHub Actions workflows and data pipelines.
  • Implement Azure DevOps for data management projects (i.e. Boards)
  • Implement DataOps Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new Azure/IaC solutions
  • Build templates, workflows, proof-of-concepts for various infrastructure and networking use cases as directed
  • Implement provided architectural solutions/designs in various DevOps disciplines
  • Work with offshore team members as required as well as clients for resolving technical dependencies, issues, and risks
  • Support common vision, practices, and capabilities across teams
  • Engage with Technical Architects and technical staff to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs.

Qualifications

  • MUST have hands on experience with Azure and DATA pipeline automation
  • An understanding of DevOps domains including Source Code Management, Continuous Integration, Deployment Automation, Infrastructure as Code, Cloud computing, etc.
  • Experience with general DevOps tooling (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Python/PowerShell)
    • Specific experience with Terraform required (certification preferred)
    • Specific experience with Azure resource design (Azure certification preferred)
    • Specific experiences with Azure data management resources and tools
  • Experience with managing MicroSoft Azure cloud resources, particularly automation of resource instantiation/configuration, monitoring, and resource management.
  • Strong understanding of data pipeline release and maintenance within a complex environment is required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 5-10 years working in a related IT field
  • Minimum of 2 years of Azure scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • A drive for continual self-improvement, particularly to learn and adopt new technologies
  • The ability to work well on teams and in front of clients
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude with high energy

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $81,978 to $178,090. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
