Overview:

The Project & Portfolio Manager within Enterprise Systems Department (ESD) is responsible for the overall success of projects by tracking, reporting and communicating all GTRI-wide operational and strategic projects and determining their priorities and impact to resources. This individual collaborates closely with the GTRI business operation units and research laboratories to ensure that project selection methodologies, standardized tools, and processes are utilized to prioritize, select and execute all projects.

The primary responsibilities include time, scope, issues, risk and resource management. This person plans, directs, and monitors the work produced by the project delivery team(s). He or she is responsible for managing stakeholder relationships, including ongoing communications, negotiation of scope and schedule changes, risks, issue resolution, and progress reporting. Other responsibilities include facilitating a cross-functional team to collect, organize, document, and communicate project related information such as scope, requirements, resources required and their necessary skills to work on the project. This will include conducting project planning, execution, and control of selected projects on the JIRA portfolio platform. The candidate will organize information and all documentations in both Jira and Confluence platforms and ensure that the leadership team has all necessary information to guide and enable them on making decisions to approve the projects for successful execution.

Job Requirements:
• Gatekeeper for the overall project portfolio-level intake process
• Manage all the assigned projects from initiation to closeout phases
• Monitors the health of all project and portfolio initiatives, interdependencies, risks, and issues.
• Provides reporting mechanisms and standards for all projects in the portfolio, ensuring transparency for
stakeholders and leadership.
• Facilitates a regular cadence of project and portfolio reviews with the management that drives the effective
delivery of projects and supports continual learning and improvement for the GTRI operational units and
research laboratories.
• Build and maintain a knowledgebase of internal and external customer practices related to the project and
portfolio management practices, resource capacity planning leveraging supported GTRI enterprise-wide
tools and processes for portfolio performance reporting.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain supporting project and portfolio management tools (e.g., project intake
form, business case form, prioritization matrices, portfolio KPI's, portfolio dashboard, etc.)
• Act as a liaison between the project team and other GTRI management teams.
• Communicate with ESD Director and other Team Leads as necessary to discuss and resolve issues
pertaining to resources required to deliver the projects.

Education and other requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree is required: Preferred degree in Business, Accounting, or IT-related field.
• 10+ years of senior IT project management experience preferably with large technology implementation
projects.
• 5+ years of experience with various project management frameworks and processes such as Agile.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Interpersonal, negotiation, planning, judgement, leadership, decision-making, analysis and problem-
solving skills
• Certifications preferred; PMP, SAFe program consultant, Certified Scrum Master.
